YU's little honeymoon with Cyanogen Inc. seems to have come to an end. You see, Micromax and Cyanogen once had an exclusive partnership in India, one which dissolved the one that the later had with OnePlus. But it seems like the two might have broken things off too.
After releasing the Yunique last month with stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop instead of Cyanogen OS, the company has now started selling the older Yuphoria with stock Android Lollipop instead of Cyanogen OS.
The new model is identified as YU5010A instead of YU5010 in the specs but you don't have to worry about that as the older model is no longer being sold. Also, another thing to note is that the phone is now cheaper by INR 500, which means it now retails for INR 6,499 ($100) instead of INR 6,999 ($107).
Neither Micromax nor Cyanogen has said anything about the possible dissolving of the partnership between them, so until we hear something from official sources, we can’t say with 100% certainty that the two companies have stopped working together.
