Micromax’s Yu Yuphoria set to launch on May 12

It was widely speculated that YU Televentures, a Micromax subsidiary, might unveil the much-awaited Yu Yuphoria later last month, but that didn't happen.
Now the firm has announced that they will unravel the device in India on May 12. In fact, the domestic vendor took to Twitter to confirm the debut of the Yu Yuphoria. The tweet simply said, "The moment of YUphoria is coming. Have you blocked your calendar?"

The upcoming Yu Yuphoria will be a spiritual successor to the Yu Yureka. Lately, the company had been teasing the device for the Indian handset market. The Yu Yuphoria will feature Cyanogen 12 OS based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Confirmed Yu Yuphoria specs:

– Android 5.0 Lollipop (Cyanogen OS 12)
– 64-bit processor
– 2GB RAM
– 16GB storage

The firm's current flagship handset is by no means an underpowered beast, with a Snapdragon 615 chipset and 2GB of RAM under the bonnet. Reports have suggested that its successor will up the ante by embracing 64-bit technology.
Regardless, the new Yu Yuphoria is sure to face some stiff competition. Xiaomi announced the Mi4i while Asus unveiled announced the ZenFone 2 two flagship smartphones that can surely have a go at YU Televentures unannounced device.

While Micromax itself isn't disclosing any further information, the timing and the message make it all but a certainty that this May 12 event will host the unveiling of the next Yu smartphone launch.
