How to lock folder in Windows 7 without any software
Today I am going to tell you that how you can lock any file and folder in windows 7 without using any software, folder lock with command (cmd) in windows 7
As windows 7 is more powerful in terms of security. Just follow following steps
Example 1:
Lets assume that folder you want to lock is in drive D and its name is abc
1. Go to start and type cmd in the search box and press enter
2. A window will open
3. Now type d: and press enter
4. It will show like this d:_
5. Now type cacls abc /p everyone:n Press Enter
6. A statement will appear for confirmation press y and then enter
7. Folder will b locked
8. To open the locked folder go to start menu and type cmd in the search box press Enter
9. Type d: and press enter
10. Now type cacls abc /p everyone:f Press Enter
11. Again type y and press enter
12. Folder will b unlocked
Example 2:
Lets assume that folder you want to lock is in drive D and folder my pics and its name is abc
1. Go to start and type cmd in the search box and press enter
2. Now type d: Press Enter
3. Now type cd my pics Press Enter
4. It will now appear like this d:\my pics\
5. Now type cacls abc /p everyone:n Press Enter
6. Confirmation line will appear press y and then enter
7. The folder will be locked
8. To open this folder go to start menu and type cmd in search box and press enter
9. Now type d: Press Enter
10. Now type cd my pics Press Enter
11. Now type cacls abc /p everyone:f Press Enter
12. Again press y and then enter
13. Folder will be unlocked
This is the simplest method of locking a folder in windows 7 without any software or locking a folder in windows 7 by command (cmd).
NOTE:
This is for demonstration purposes only you will have to change the drive path and folder name according to your target folder which you want to lock i used drive d: and folder name abc
